Good people, great food, welcome to the Philippines!
What a place to start an adventure! The Philippines truly stands as a gem to the world. I say this with gratitude for the good people I had to serve on my mission in California. During my time as a missionary for my church I had many beautiful experiences. I got to eat Pinoy food, learn the language, and be immersed in the culture. This culture has blessed me for a lifetime, and has helped me find dear brothers and sisters that can't be replaced.

The country ranks 114 out of 187 countries with similar data. The HDI of all East Asia plus the Pacific increased from 0.432 in 1980 to 0.683 today. This places the Philippines below the regional average. The HDI trends show at the national and regional level and highlight the large gaps in living and life chances that divide our interconnected world.
I feel that the Philippines is still in Globalization 1.0, but much of it's cities are large and heavily populated. Big companies from America and other countries hire Pinoy workers for their high productivity and low costs. In this way I think they are growing towards globalization 2.0. The Philippines doesn't have a lot of big companies known internationally, but that may change in the coming years. The Philippines is very diverse and has a variety of both urban and rural areas. There is a lot of international promotion over the country, and I feel this will help it grow. Source Link: http://hdrstats.undp.org/en/countries/profiles/phl.html |
